Event FAQS / Find your answers

What is the date and time of the event?

BC Uncorked is being held on Saturday, May 28th from 7pm to 9:30pm.

Where is the event held?

BC Uncorked is held in the Grand Hall at Heritage Woods Secondary School in Port Moody, located at 1300 David Avenue.

What does my ticket price include?

Your entry fee includes wine samples and food samples from all of the participating vendors, however with over 175 wines to sample it’s not possible to taste everything in the room. Enjoy your sample then use the available spit buckets and water jugs to rinse your glass.

* NOTE: Should any guests arrive at the festival intoxicated they will not be permitted entry and their ticket will be forfeited.

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online.  However if you don’t want to buy online, or if you are having any trouble with the online ticketing system, we also have telephone sales available.  Please call the box office Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm beginning Monday, April 11th.

How does the e-ticket system work?

The team at BC Uncorked is working hard to make the check-in process at the event quick and easy.  Follow the prompts to purchase your tickets online, then make sure to bring your ticket with you to the event either as a hard copy or on your mobile device.  The barcodes will be scanned on entry to the event.

* NOTE: Should any guests arrive at the festival intoxicated they will not be permitted entry and their ticket will be forfeited.

Is there a safe ride home program?

Yes, there is a safe ride home program offered at the tasting:

Operation Red Nose will be on-site offering rides home to guests in their own vehicles.  Payment is made by donation with all proceeds going to KidSport in the local community, so please be generous.  Rides can be booked on-site at the festival with the Operation Red Nose coordinator.

A shuttle service will be offered by a local company with pick-up and drop-off locations in Newport Village, central surrounding neighbourhoods as well as Translink locations.  Fares will be approximately $10 per person one way.  Bookings will be able to be made in advance.  Visit us again soon for details.

Taxis will be rotating at the end of the evening, and will be available on a first-come basis.  See a staff member at the door for assistance.

Is there a discount for designated drivers?

We are in the process of putting together a designated driver program, however at this time no firm arrangements have been made.  The event offers great value to all of our guests.  Designated drivers can enjoy food samples from all of the restaurants and caterers, as well as complimentary Happy Water samples.

Can I purchase wine at the event?

In the past our liquor store partner has offered either wine orders or wine sales at the tasting.  This season they’ve decided to participate as a vendor and connect with local community guests by offering wine samples at their station.  Therefore wine sales will not be available at the May event.

What is the age of the guests that attend the tasting?

The event welcomes guests over the age of 19.  No minors are permitted at the event.  Anyone from a beginner wine lover to an experienced wine lover will enjoy the wines and gourmet foods offered during the evening.

Is there a dress code?

Over the past few years we’ve observed that guests of BC Uncorked enjoy the spring tasting dressed in casual business attire.  It’s important to wear comfortable footwear as you will be walking throughout the room and there is limited seating available at this event.
