Event FAQS / Find your answers

What is the date and time of the event?

BC Uncorked is being held on Saturday, March 11th. The Master Class tasting is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the general tasting is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

** NEW VENUE ** Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club, Coquitlam

Where is the event held?

BC Uncorked has moved! The event is now being held at the Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club located at 3251 Plateau Blvd. in Coquitlam. We are taking over both levels of the clubhouse for this annual event.

What does my ticket price include?

General Admission includes wine samples and food samples from all of the participating vendors. Remember that with over 175 wines available, it’s not possible to taste everything in the room. Enjoy your sample, then use the available spit buckets and water jugs to rinse your glass.

The Master Class Package includes general admission to the festival at 7 p.m. and exclusive access to the VIP tasting from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The master class features key principles joining us from the Okanagan to showcase the age-ability of BC wines.  Master class guests will have the opportunity to sample wines from winery libraries and compare them to current releases. Special guests include JAK Meyer from Meyer Family Vineyards, Leslie D’Andrea from Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery, Lauren Skinner from Painted Rock Estate Winery, Eric von Krosigk from Summerhill Pyramid Winery and Sandra Oldfield from Tinhorn Creek Vineyards.

* NOTE: Should any guests arrive at the festival intoxicated they will not be permitted entry and their ticket will be forfeited.

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online.  However if you don’t want to buy online, or if you are having any trouble with the online ticketing system, we also have telephone sales available.  Please call the box office Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

How does the e-ticket system work?

The team at BC Uncorked is working hard to make the check-in process at the event quick and easy.  Follow the prompts to purchase your tickets online, then make sure to bring your ticket with you to the event either as a hard copy or on your mobile device. The barcodes will be scanned on entry to the event.

* NOTE: Should any guests arrive at the festival intoxicated they will not be permitted entry and their ticket will be forfeited.

Is there a safe ride home program?

Greater Vancouver Designated Drivers (GVDD) are accepting pre-bookings to get you and your car home safely. Visit their website at www.gvdd.ca or call 604-917-0177. Arrangements may also be made on-site to use this service, however it is recommended that you book ahead.

Complimentary shuttle service will be available to take guests to the new Evergreen Line located near Douglas College. The shuttle will be making loops between the venue and the Evergreen Line from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. No other stops will be made. Complimentary Compass transit tickets will be available through the BC Liquor Board’s “Get Home Safe” program on a first-come basis. Visit the concierge desk on-site for details.

Taxis are not readily available at this venue and have proven to be a challenge to arrange. It is highly recommended to plan for an alternate way home to avoid any last minute complications in leaving the venue.

Is there a discount for designated drivers?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer discounted designated driver tickets as our event doesn’t operate on a token system. There will be non-alcoholic beverages available, and guests can enjoy food samples from all of the participating restaurants and catering companies.

Can I cancel my ticket for a refund?

The BC Uncorked Food & Wine Festival is a charity fundraiser so refunds are not permitted, however your ticket(s) are transferable. Contact our customer service team to update the ticket(s) with the new guest name by email or call 604-463-1998 (Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m). Any ticket changes must be made prior to Monday, March 6th.

What is the age of the guests that attend the tasting?

The event welcomes guests over the age of 19. No minors are permitted at the event.

Two (2) pieces of government-issued ID will be requested of guests who appear to be under the age of 30.

Primary ID examples include: drivers license, passport, Canadian card/certificate, and First Nations status card.

Secondary ID examples include: credit cards, university/college student cards, or any other card with an imprint of your name and a signature.

Is there a dress code?

Casual or business-casual attire is suggested for this event. It’s important to wear comfortable footwear as you will be walking throughout the two-story building during the evening.
